Nespresso ditched the traditional pump system for extracting coffee flavors into an espresso cup for the newer Centrifusion technology.
As the name implies, Centrifusion spins the coffee to extract the flavors, resulting in an espresso beverage with a surprisingly thick crema.
Unfortunately, some people might find the crema airier or foamier than what they get from a coffee shop.
Nevertheless, the espresso is aromatic and flavorful, although it does not provide an authentic crema mouthfeel.
Automated Blend-specific Brewing
There is no mistaking the large, LED-backlit button on top of the machine with the Nespresso label and a coffee cup icon.
Underlying this single-button control interface is the Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe’s intuitive blend-specific brewing technology.
It works in tandem with the VertuoPlus Deluxe’s pod-scanning system, allowing the coffee machine to adjust the brewing parameters for each VertuoLine capsule automatically.
The system checks the ideal brewing temperature, pressure, and brewing time for the specific coffee size.
There are no up and down arrow keys or dedicated buttons to press – the Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe automates everything.
Wide Brew Size Range
The Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe espresso machine delivers three espresso cup sizes (1.35 oz espresso, 2.8 oz doppio, and 3.7 oz lungo) and two coffee cup sizes (7.8 oz Americano and 14 oz Alto).
However, one can also enjoy a Ristretto (0.3 oz), a 5 oz Gran Lungo, or a travel mug-worthy coffee (17 oz).
Everything depends on one’s choice of Nespresso VertuoLine coffee capsule.
Any desk or counter can accommodate the Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe coffee and espresso maker because it only measures 8.7 inches across.
This Nespresso coffee maker is also effortless to stow under a kitchen cabinet.
60 Oz Water Reservoir
Among the VertuoLine coffee makers, the Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe has the largest water reservoir capacity at 60 oz.
Not only is the Nespresso coffee maker’s water tank large, one can also adjust its position at the back or side of the VertuoPlus Deluxe, improving its space-saving characteristics.
Who Is It For?
The Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe single-serve coffee maker is an excellent choice for people who want a no-fuss, no-frills machine that delivers both ordinary coffee and espresso.
It is also ideal for coffee lovers with cramped spaces, underscoring the machine’s ultra-slim and thoughtful design.
The VertuoPlus Deluxe is also suitable for coffee drinkers who want a thick crema on their espressos while enabling them to set their brew sizes from 0.3 ounces to 17 ounces.
The 17 oz brew size is perfect for coffee lovers who enjoy their favorite drinks in a travel mug.
While we admire the VertuoPlus Deluxe’s Centrifusion technology, we deemed it inferior to a single-serve coffee machine with a 19-bar pressure pump, such as Nespresso’s OriginalLine of coffee makers.
The Centrifusion technology creates a coffee drink with less than the ideal temperature, and the crema it produces is frothier than creamy.
People will only lament Nespresso’s decision to use a code-scanning technology on the VertuoPlus Deluxe, limiting the coffee capsules one can use to only VertuoLine capsules or Vertuo pods.

Not only does this limit one’s options, but it also makes drinking a cup of coffee or espresso more expensive.
This Nespresso machine sits nicely on any counter or desk and has a fully automated brewing program for delivering exceptional espresso cups and traditional coffee for people with a fast-paced lifestyle.
However, if one needs a faster brewing Nespresso machine that delivers excellent espressos in seconds, the Nespresso Evoluo or Vertuo is worthy of consideration.

What is the difference between Nespresso VertuoPlus and Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe?
The Nespresso VertuoPlus has a smaller water tank than the Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe (37 oz vs. 57 oz).
However, the VertuoPlus is taller by half an inch than the VertuoPlus Deluxe (12.8 inches vs 12.3 inches).
Besides these two characteristics, the Nespresso VertuoPlus and Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe are nearly identical.
What is the difference between Nespresso Vertuo and Nespresso VertuoPlus?
The Nespresso Vertuo has a smaller reservoir (40 oz), slimmer profile (8.3 inches wide), and is shallower (11.9 inches) and shorter (11 inches) than the Nespresso Vertuo Plus.
However, a Nespresso Vertuo Plus review puts it at a disadvantage when considering spent capsule capacity and heat-up time.
The Nespresso Vertuo Plus coffee and espresso maker only has 1300 watts of power, extending its heat-up time by five seconds compared to the Nespresso Vertuo’s 15-second heating capability (thanks to its 1350 watts of power).
The Nespresso Vertuo also accommodates 12 used capsules in its container, while the Nespresso Vertuo Plus can accept only 10 spent Nespresso pods.
Is the Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe worth it?
Nespresso Vertuo Plus Deluxe’s only significant advantage over other VertuoLine products is its large-capacity water tank.
If you have the budget, you can always pick the Nespresso Evoluo with a faster heating time (15 seconds vs 20 seconds), larger used capsule container (17 vs. 10), and more powerful heating element (1350 watts vs 1300 watts).
